SETE 2026 Mission Engineering Workshop

MISSION ENGINEERING & SYSTEM DESIGN – A PRACTICAL TUTORIAL IN UNLOCKING THE POWER OF MBSE

Thank you to everyone who attended the Eggler Institute of Technology tutorial at SETE 2026 — it was a privilege to work with such an engaged and highly capable group of professionals. David Sincock Grant White Peter Watt Jason Longdon Vaishnavi Nanda Kumar Michelle Noguez Ceron Dariusz Walter Benjamin Peterson Craig Lipman Photi Karagiannis Hana Benhizia

Throughout the tutorial, participants explored how Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) can be applied in a practical, structured way to bridge the critical gap between operational intent and system design. In particular, the focus on mission engineering, integrated architectures and establishing a single source of truth resonated strongly, along with the discussion on overcoming real-world barriers to MBSE adoption.

The tutorial’s objective was to provide not just concepts, but methods one can apply immediately to improve clarity, traceability and decision-making in complex engineering programs. For those professionals that would like a full-colour copy of the tutorial presentation it is available here:https://lnkd.in/eQi-MdxE

If there are opportunities to further strengthen technical capability within your organisation, the Eggler Institute would be pleased to support targeted knowledge and skills uplift through our specialised training programs.

I look forward to continuing the conversation and meeting many more systems engineering professionals at future INCOSE events around the world.
